Craig primarily counsels clients in complex real estate and land use matters, including acquisitions and divestitures; residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use development; land use entitlements and permitting; condominiums; homeowners association formation and management; covenants, conditions & restrictions; property disputes; financing; leasing; surface mines; shoreline management, environmental and title insurance matters. As Senior Vice President and General Counsel of a publicly traded real estate development and timber company, Craig was a senior executive with a consistent track record of significant accomplishments and leadership skills, with primary responsibility for corporate legal affairs; strategic planning and business implementation; securities compliance; contracts; complex mergers and acquisitions; cross-border transactions; joint ventures; real estate development and transactions; and corporate governance.

 

Craig has practiced real estate and land use law since 1983. He has served as counsel for development of more than 8,000 acres and 50 residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial parks, mixed-use developments and resorts, including the Resort at Port Ludlow. In addition to representation of private developers and property owners, Craig also represents and serves as claims counsel for title insurance companies.


Craig is counsel to Coventry Real Estate Advisors, LLC, New York, and Developers Diversified Realty Corporation, Cleveland, in the redevelopment of the Totem Lake Mall in Kirkland, Washington, involving property acquisition; negotiating, drafting and obtaining zoning changes and entitlements; negotiation and drafting of significant development agreements; interaction with City Staff, presentation and representation before the City Planning Commission, Design Review Board and City Council; interaction with neighborhood groups, public agencies and the general public; negotiation of public/private financing participation; resolution of property issues; and future site development and construction.


Craig has extensive banking law experience and has represented financial institutions since 1983. Currently, representation includes financial institutions with special real estate asset strategic planning, management, consultation, workouts, modifications and foreclosures, primarily involving commercial and industrial real properties.
